Today felt like forever. In class we read a part of a book, called the Joy Luck Club. We could only read bits a pieces, because it was taking us too long. We made questions as we went along. We answered the questions at the end.

Litotes- emphasizes point by using a word opposite to the condition Examples It was not the warmest day of the year. The school day was not that good. I wasn't that tall. Antithesis-use of a contrast in language to bring out a contrast in ideas. Examples : We are caught in war, wanting peace. We are torn by division, wanting unity.
