      Today we started writing narratives about a poem we read. The poem was about a bout in Baltimore, he was riding around and another child called him “Nigger.” Our assignment was to write a diary entry about what happened, you could pick how everything went, but it HAD to be in Baltimore, and the boy HAD to call you a slur. We turned it in, and I think we will finish tomorrow.

     Today we wrote papers about whether we believe the faces on the current American bills should be changed. I sided with majority, that they should be changed. It was more of a class thing, but you weren’t supposed to copy it from the board exactly, it was just an example. We were told to take it home as homework and finish it, so that’s what I’m about to go do.

      Today we read two passages, they were both focused on the current faces on the currency. We went over them and made claims for them. There were only a few people who thought the bill faces should stay the same. I said that we should change the faces.

      Today we read our poems that we did yesterday. Although our poems mainly revolves around the same letters, everyone had a unique poem. Some poems even had the same quotes, but differed a lot. Most of the poems were kind of sad. They were about abuse, weakness, ill treatment, but there were maybe two or three that weren’t so sad. 

 

      Today in class we received an assignment. The assignment is to create a poem, on the color purple. I think it’ll be pretty easy. It’s due tomorrow.

      Today we read letters 21 and 22. We came up with themes for these parts of the book. It was a bit hard, since we were the last class, but it wasn’t too hard. We also answered a question in illuminate. We went over it, towards the end of class.

     Today we finished our benchmark, that’s all.

      Today the last groups presented. The groups got really boring as the week went on, because some groups had the same letters, so there were a lot of similar questions, which isn’t their faults, there wasn’t much else to talk about. I did enjoy answering the questions, even though it got repetitive.

      Today my group presented. We were group 5, with letter 17. I wasn’t very nervous, since I know everybody in class.

     Today three groups presented their projects that we were given earlier this week. Everybody did great.

     Today we started a “project.” The project is to be taken fairly lightly, because it it’s too hard, it’s kind of just like classwork. I was given the role of the “questioner.” 

      Today we analyzed the story by quotes. We read 3 letters, and picked a quote from each letter. With the quote we picked a theme, topic, and we analyzed them. Even if people picked the same quote, everyone’s theme was still different.

      Today in class we answered 10 questions on the story the color purple. I enjoyed how we answered these questions, it was a fun way to get work done. We didn’t read any of the book today, but I still enjoyed the class.
