The color purple

Today we started a book, called the color purple. The book is in an odd format. Each “chapter/entry” is a new letter to God. We got through 7 letters, each time we wrote down our reactions to what happened. The book is very fast pace.

test

Today I took three tests, 2 out of 3 were very easy. The hardest test, Ms. Jackson’s test, was really hard for me, because it was math. I’m sure I did poorly, but oh well, it’s already done.

Short class

Today our class was cut a bit short. We did a kahoot, in preparation for the test. The person who got the highest score (Adriel) does not have to take the test tomorrow with the rest of us.

10/26

Today we got new vocabulary words. We also completed an exercise. We also answered the questions we wrote the other day, about our story “The life you save may be your own.”

Finished

Today we finished reading the story I talked briefly about in yesterday’s blog. We also worked on the papers we had started, which I didn’t mention yesterday. We are creating questions, writing important quotes, words we don’t know, and something else I forgot.

The Life You Save May Be Your Own

Today we read the story “The life you save may be your own.” The story was very good, so far. We weren’t able to finish. A lot of people a sick.

Responding to Informational Text

Today we talked about the meta verse and virtual reality. We were each given a prompt/ question so respond to the article we read. My question was how would I describe what I read as a Color. I picked the color silver chrome, since they both remind me of the future.

Demeaning Punishments

Today we talked read and talked about an article. The article was about whether schools shoulda be allowed to put children in demeaning uniform after disobeying the school policies. After we read this article, we wrote and essay about it, as a class. We took notes, and later on before class ended he checked the notes.

backwards

Today we started with fourth period first. I cam very late, with only about ten minutes in class. The time that I was in class, we were doing our benchmark. I was told we were in fourth first and first fourth, because forth period is always cut super short.

Birches

Today we read a poem, called birches. The poem was very long. We spent the rest of the class analyzing the poem. The a/c was broken today, so it kept running.

nationality

Today we talking about nationality, and how it can affect the world around you, about how you see things. We posted our responses online to our bloggers. We also read the “I, Too” poem.

Short class

Today we had about thirty or so minutes in class. We spent this time reading and analyzing a poem. The poem was about a mother giving her son advice. She was speaking about all the hardships she endured, but that she had to continue her fight. Tomorrow I have PSAT’s, not excited at all.

10/6

Today we shared our poems we worked on the day before. We were only given the option to share one, the dream poem. I personally think everyone did great.

creating a poem.

Today Mr. Rease was not here. We had a substitute, she was very nice! For our assignment we were to write a poem about our dreams. I finished my poem fairly fast. I do not like writing poems at all, but I did it for the grade.

fences film

Today we watched the film “Fences”. I enjoyed it a lot, and the actors did a good job. We could only watch the more important parts, because it was about 2 hours long. Although we didn’t watch all of it, the parts we watched were still very enjoyable.

good play.

Today we finished the play “fences”. This play didn’t end how I thought it would, Cory was in the marines, Rose raised Troys daughter Raynell, and Troy is dead. I only thought one of those three things would happen, Rose raising Raynell. Although unexpected, I still enjoyed the way this play ended, and look forward to another reading in Mr. Reases class.
